Hi Guys

I'm in a dilemma, I already have a set of the the old style RS4 wheels which are in need of refurbishing which I think will probably be around £200 or do i shell out and buy myself some Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2 (bare rims) which are £500 ish

Really stuck on this !!

Pro Race will be a stronger, lighter rim. Better handling (reduced unsprung weight, less prone to buckling. .etc

rule of thumb with wheels is always buy the best you can afford.

Light wheels will make a fair difference in acceleration, braking and general handling.

I was running some Rondell 0081 split rims (see avatar) which were 18x8.5 and weighed a huge 13.9kg each just for the rim. The car felt physically slower and harder to stop and it was horrible if you drove over rough road surfaces. They looked cool though :cartman:

now thats a nice light weight for an 18x8 rim. even my heavy LCR rims felt a huge improvement over the rondells.

I weighed one of mine when I first got them, albeit on some digital bathroom scales and they weighed 11.4kg :(

the fsd/eibach setup is great if your not after extreme lowering. I use mine as a daily and drive the family around in it, so coilovers weren't really an option.

The drop is about 10-15mm it looks slightly lower than a standard LCR in flesh. The ride is superb though even on 18's
