Horn stuck on

The car has been left in the sun for most of the afternoon. As I started to drive home from work, the horn jammed on. If you wiggled the horn button around, you could get it to stop, but any vibration, bump in the road, or indeed just staring at it would set it off again. I ended up pulling the fuse so I could drive it.

I'll be popping into the stealer first thing tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem before, and if it's a quick, simple fix?

P.S. As a side question, is the handbook supposed to fit in the slot in the glovebox? Mine doesn't  .

depends on how old your car is i think as to whether it fits in the glove box. My 1.4 09 reg ibiza sc had a fairly large book etc and didnt fit in, but my 10 reg FR came with a much smaller book which slots in fine :)

oh i didnt mean just the book on its own i mean the whole package DOES fit in mine.

the package i got in my fr tdi is MUCH smaller than the 1.4 i had, it is perfectly sized to fit in the glove compartment.

It's a 59 plate, so maybe they've just changed the manuals after realising their error.

Anyway, I've had my car looked at, and one of the wires in the steering wheel wasn't clipped in place properly, and has worn out, causing the issue. The garage applied a fix that allows me to keep driving, but will be replacing the steering wheel under warranty (they said it would be easier than replacing the wiring loom).

Good to have it sorted anyway.

I'll rephrase my answer, the book is small enough to fit the holder, but it's not a snug fit and seems to always fall out.
