CD changer SEAT Leon MK1 malfunction

Sorry if this has been posted on previous threads - but.... on inserting the 6 CD changer into the bracket, the system doesn't appear to recognise it and go through all the CDs as usual. When you press the "tape CD" button on the main stereo system, it just displays "MAGAZINE". This is on a 2004 MK1 Seat Leon. Any ideas?? is it a driver problem?? is a completely new system likely to be needed?

any ideas as to how much it would cost to replace? I'm thinking of selling the car and wondered if prospective buyers would be really put off with a lack of a CD changer?

£40-£60 generally, try a wanted advert on here first

I have a 6CD changer that has always worked fine for me that I have recently stopped using due to a new head unit. I haven't removed the whole thing just yet, but will shortly. When I do I'll create an advert in the for sale section here, but if you're interested right now just PM me and I'll keep it for you as it were.
