Buying a toledo tomorrow...urgent help needed please

Hi, im buying a 2001 toledo tomorrow hopefully but ide like to know what i have got to look out for. apparently it has had new brakes and clutch but it has no service history and has done 110K...also im going to take my laptop if vagcom works with this tolly...finally what codes do i have to look out for that will cost me alot to fix.

Petrol or diesel?

In general, if the ECU light is off, then nothing expensive needs to be fixed. The only thing I might suggest is reset the engine codes (whether there are any or not), then see if the car still runs ok.

Of course, if the light is on, then it's up to you whether you even try and take it for a test drive.

Check that the pollen filter has been correctly fitted or else water will leak into the car, and also look for signs of neglect.

This. Also check the front footwells aren't damp as this can be a sign of the above, or leaking door seals.

check all door seals and foot wells,mine leaked front and rear.
if it has had water ingress,chance are one of the central convenience modules may be up **** creek.
which will mean lack of central locking,alarm problems,no electric mirrors and/or windows.Not cheap to buy from a dealer,but circa 60 quid from a scrappy,plus coding it up.
