Have an 03 Toledo (53 plate) 1.8 20V AUTO

First the indicator lights stopped flashing, just while locking the car, you can still hear it lock

Then Fri morning engine management light came on

Last night after dropping someone off, the lights on speedo and clock etc dimmed down and went off and the accelerator stopped working

the car continued to run on 5mph AUTO for a couple of miles and then conked out totally

Called another friend to give us a jump everything was fine until leads were taken off the batteries and it conked out again. We pushed it into a side street

Picked it up today it was ok for a mile, then accelerator stopped working and it went 5 mph AUTO, got it home like that with a friend using hazards in his car behind.

so the ABS, TCS, SEATBELT and ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHTS SHOW, is this a particular fault code? if so what? if not what could it be?

Almost sounds like a dead altornator. Sounds od, I know but sounds like there's not enough power to run the injectors and everything else. So when you jump it you've got enough power from the other car. Might not be but definately worth checking first as well as the battery. Any garage should be able to do a altornator and battery check for you nowadays. Let us know how you get on.

Could it be that your alarm (you have one right?) is not turned on when you lock your car? Try pressing the lock button once the car is actually locked. As far as I remember from the manual, this should activate the alarm (or was it the other way round), hence make the light on the driver's door blink.

No the alarm is on and works, when the car is locked all doors are locked apart from passenger door but no lights flash, if pass. door is opened alarm goes off. Engine management light is on and im guessing this is the problem why , but not sure how to solve it, i've checked fuses also
