Took my car in for a service the other week and they parked it up next to a mk5 1.6 Sport in white.
I have to admit, I felt a little sad on the drive home. The mk4's look so dated... I would even go to calling them slightly ugly compared to the mk5.
I was parked up at a services next to a mk5 FR, white, 5 door. Firstly it was a5 door which runs the lines of small cars instantly for me. Secondly, wheels look very bland, interior looked good. Bodywork, didn't look much different to the standard Ibiza's. I look forward to seeing the facelift versions whenever they come out.
I agree though, the mk4 is looking dated. The facelift bumper/cupra rear bumper help a lot, but can't see myself holding onto this shape car for a drastically long time.
I think it's a very good looking car but it all comes down to the engine / gearbox.....
i would have bought one if it had a more "tuneable" engine in it with a more user friendly gearbox.
i think SEAT have failed a bit here, if someone is going out to buy a car like a boc they would prefer to pay more for the emisions etc rather than get a smaller engine.....
a 2.0 t should be sat in there
