its a crappy situation mate.

i know a chap who has more key coding capeability than most dealers, a couple of tools and the right know how and he can do more with most cars than any dealership!

he doesnt cut them just codes them in and charges next to nothing to do it, his main source of income is removing miles off peoples odometers but his equipment also allow key coding.

crazy world.

That's the one I tried the other method as don't have a spare and it didn't work do as posted hear but only if your key fits in the ignition ect ;)

BEN- did you leave tge key in the door when you pressed the button then hold it down and lock?

There is also another method that can be done ;)

Sam,

Yeah, leave the key in the lock the whole time mate.

Its hard to get right because the movement is hard when you have the buttons pressed, but it should work.

Make sure the door is shut obviously.

Ben

More in depth guide...

Put NON-REMOTE key in and turn on th eignition.

Shut door.

Using the REMOTE KEY, insert into the lock, press and hold the lock button, and still holding the button manually lock and unlock the car. (Leave in lock the whole time)

The horn should beep or the lights indicators flash.

Key should now be sync'd.

If it didn't work, try it again pressing and holding the unlock button.

I re-sync'd mine the other day using a totally different method that was in my garages how to bible book...

Put NON-REMOTE key in and turn on th eignition.

Using the REMOTE KEY, insert into the lock, press and hold the lock button, and still holding the button manually lock and unlock the car.

The horn should beep or the lights indicators flash.

Key should now be sync'd.

Put new battary in and followed these instructions and now my fob works like a charm, thank you very much, now on to getting a flip key!

Key question:

regarding locking the car while the car warms.

[1] remote key - [start ignition]
[2] with the spare key, lock the driver door with one turn...

im finding that the alarm keeps going off after a few seconds....

do i use that internal button to disable the alarm sensors?
so
[1] remote key [start ignition
[2] disable the alarm sensors by pressing the button once
[3] with spare jey, lock the driver door with one turn...

unfortunatly, theres no indication whether the alarm sensors are on or off (for obvious reasons)

SOOOOOOOO my key did something strange this morning, I unlocked the car with the fob then got in and drove for 2 miles to the shop, I got out of my car and attempted to lock it with the fob and it wouldnt work. The red light was constantly flashing, flashed the whole time I was in the shop and when i returned back to the car i had to unlock with the key not the fob, and the light continued to flash even while i was driving the car. I had to take the key apart and take the battary out and then reprogram! What could have caused this?

Did the same exact thing this morning, except last time it did it, i took the battary out and re-synced it, this time it wont re-sync and the red light doesnt flash at all...grrrr stupid central locking.:censored::censored::censored:

The guy that sold me the car said the key on the left isnt supposed to be able to start the car, he said he only got it cut to unlock the doors as a back up key

ive got the same keys and my non fob key wont start the ignition. and my key fob wont unlock my door but will the boot so im guessing the locks where changed.

ive determined that the key that isnt supposed to start the car actually does but it shuts off within 5 seconds im assuming because it doesnt have a chip or something in it

I changed my batteries last week. Mine was 2 batteries mentioned earlier in the thread, to get it to re-program to the central looking i put the key in the door for about 5 seconds and the red light flashed and walla it worked again!
Not sure if its different because i had two batteries but could be worth a try?
