Further to earlier question re the adjustment of the bi-xenons. Can see that there appears to be two adjustment points that are adjusted with a long 6mm hex key.
One is at front and easy to see, the other one is accessed through a hole in the wing/bonnet area. I cant work out how to get the beams to move intowards the nearside. On both beams they point far to much to the offside and into on comming traffic..
Any ideas are most welcome.. My dealer says to bring it in for the day, but if its just a simple thing like turning a 6mm hex would prefer to do it myself... regards JAKE.

Aren't the original xenons at least height adjusted through vagcom? I know a common problem is the impossibility to adjust the leon lamps over standard Leon software. I know my lamps had to be height adjusted by telling the software the car is a Altea wiht xenons. After that adjustment settings where recognized.

Taking car in for a whole day with the 1 hour drive to them in first place dont appear to be good ... Will just add its a new Fr year 2011 and adjusters appear easy to access..

More so if the adjustment is just a case of lining up against a wall with some datum points marked first then doing adjustment myself...

Well thats the idea at this stage.
.
Again any real useful advice most welcomed..
Jake..

im not to sure about the lingo, but when i adjusted mine (they seemed very low after i got it lowered) I noticed that the left light isnt all the light on the left and the right light isnt all the light on the right. Sounds daft but if your worried about blinding on coming traffic, get down a dark alley and try adjusting the left light....

Have got the adjustment for the verticle about right, its the horizontal that appears to be strange, unless they are mechanically and electronically connected and controls the actual spread of the beams. But that adjustment really dont appear to be doing anything that I can see...
Any ideas please ,,

The beam has a default setting in VCDS.
Makes no difference what you do manually alone, it will always revert back to the default.

You will need to go to into VCDS, select the xenon range, manually adjust & store the setting in VCDS.

On which model are you refering to, as i can tell you quite honestly that you can change the height etc by manual and they stay there, trust me i have raised mine up successfully without a VCDS. They are still self adjusting and will alter depending on weight etc in the car but the thing you change manually is like the standard height.

not me personally, but you can miss them, (Unless its dark and you dont have a torch) just do the same as if you were going to change a bulb, open the bonnet, lean over, and look to the back of the lights, you will see a white (sometimes black as per VW) little circular plastic piece with a hole in the top for an alan key, a bit like a cog. insert alan key and twist, think its a size 6 or 7. get down a dark alley so you can see the change, as its not left is left and right is right if you know what i mean.
