First of all when i search this is what comes up

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 71 bytes) in /var/www/web1/web/forums/search.php on line 1160

So i have tried to search! :(

Right problem is BAD now... Basically car locks itself AS SOON as u unlock it (so u can imagine whats its like trying to get in the bloody car! Need quick hands to get the door open!!)
Then when u r eventually in and start the car it locks AND arms itself so the bloody alarm goes off! (even when driving, as i tried this, and the alarm was going off as i drove down the road!)
Tried fooling the car by starting car with door open, but even so, it still locks and arms?!

Any ideas?? As the car is pretty much fooked till i sort it! Any fuses/relays i can pull as a temp.fix??

Please help guys! Ps- car is a 2004 LCR 225

Cheers, Darren

Its sounds like the problem I had, although it would let me get into the car before locking itself :p

I would start the engine the doors would lock and the alarm would arm itself, after about 10 seconds of driving the alarm would sound. Sound about right?

Took it to a VW garage, they had it for a whole day and couldn't find the problem. I eventually spoke to my local garage who put me in touch with a car electronics expert.
He diagnosed it within an hour!! I forget the specifics as I am at work and can't check but its some kind of electronic relay error. Its replaceable but cost me around £300.
Hasn't done it since.

When I get home I can check the invoice for part descriptions if you want?

Hope this helps? :)

Thanks K3.. and yeah that sounds exactly right! I have pulled all the central locking fuses so far and am opening it with just the key...and when i drive it, it doesnt lock (as in when i get over 10mph the doors dont 'automatically' lock) hence.. the alarm doesnt go off now! But..sometimes when i lock it on the key, the boot doesnt lock? :(

Basically u can hear every door and the boot randomly locking and unlocking lol :( Rang Seat, waiting for them to ring back as ideally i want it sorting today! Keep the ideas coming guys! Cheers!

Booked it into an auto electricians on 21st as im off for a week and gf is home for transporting me about lol.. Seat wanted £65 PLUS vat for a one hour diagnosis, and if they didnt find it in the hour it would be more..blah blah...

So like K3 said, i think an auto electrician will be better. K3 will you still post up what was wrong with yours and the cost etc as i'll mention that when mine goes in. Cheers

mine did a similar sort of thing i don't think mine had an aggressive form of the disease though. i did it probably 2x in 6 months only.
Based on that i'd say it was something like a reley that was on its way out so agree with you as i bet over time it would get worse.
On one of my last cars it did the same. I replaced alarm sensors you name it and it did nothing so i would suggest the relay too.

The company I used was called Scantec GB - the German Car Specialists.

The invoice names the replaced part as a Convenience Module - part number: 1C0 959 799 F
The cost of the part was £219.22 + labour & VAT = £322.21

Im not sure if the name of the part is an official title or just a name used by this company but it
could be worth checking out the Scantec site for a phone number for more information.

Hope this helps :)
