Oil - Mapped PD 140

Hi All

Just wondering what oil you guys put in your 2.0 TDI 140 PD?

Mine is 2006 Sport running Superchips map & want to confirm if need to run with a different spec oil.

Checked with Oil Man who recommended 505.01 standard spec but have also seen some people told to use 506 (long life?) if running a map & also been advised to run 507.00. Confused?

While trying to confirm oil spec, I have also seen some sites stating that this engine has DPF. I thought this was only present on the FR 170bhp engine?

Also, does any one have weird shape dip stick (pardon the pun!). Rather than having min/max marks, my has 2 balls which makes if difficult to read. Also doesn't state where on these min/max balls oil should be.

Any ideas on either of these points?

Stick to 505.01 spec.

On the dipstick issue, where are the max/min levels? Are these recorded from the tops or bottom of the balls? How far would you fill yours up to?

Would have been much easier to just use standard type gauge!

Just aim for the top ball. A little over or under ain't gonna do any harm.
