Look at the throttle body and see if it has a wire on it or not ;)

I dont understand either lol, this is what i was told...apparently because the battary was disconnected.

"If yours is Drive By Wire the throttle alignment will have reverted to its default setting when you disconnected the battery to fit that jolly nice leather steering wheel you have. You mentioned you were getting poor fuel economy, even on a decent run, and this could be caused by your TB needing setting up properly."

Also, see this thread. Can someone put it into stupid terms for me?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but on the dash - if you have the EPC light, then doesnt that mean you have DBW? What with EPC being electronic pedal control and all? Or isnt there the thing (I've read on here, not tried it) that says that if you acclerate and brake at the same time in a DBW system then the engine will wind down/cut down?

Apparently if your engine code is APE, AXP, AUS or AXD it has drive by wire. Sticker with engine code should be in the boot on the floor. May be easier to check that way for you?

Stability control is Esc, I know this has been discussed about braking any accelerating at the same time but mine doesn't have that affect? (Left foot braking!)

Simple Test,

Get in the car,

Start it,

Leave it out of gear,

Press the break peddle,

Gently press the throttle, it should cut to 1200RPM after 2 seconds or so if you have DBW.

Saftey feature of DBW

works on my 52 1.9TDI 110
