Finally took the plunge and refurbed by alloys at The Wheel Specialist, Nottingham. Certainly not the cheapest, but by far the most comprehensive service. Plumped for the Anthracite powder coat, with the centre caps colour matched and I'm well pleased!

Had some scratches and scuffs before, which I simply can't find now.

Thanks to Mark and the team - can certainly recommend them. You get what you pay for I guess!

Looking good!

Do you mind how much that set back you back as fancy having mine powder coated as inside rims looking rough now!

Cheers

£336 plus £24 for the centre caps so £90 per wheel.

The finish is just superb and so much better than I expected. They truly look like new!

Well chuffed!

I had mine done a couple of years back with them in Leeds. Great quality finish. Prices have gone up though

Look great! Nice colour choice for your Red Leon!
So do you need to leave your car with them, while they refurb all the wheels, meaning no car for a few days?

Cost me extra as I took the car in first thing, left it with them for the day, and then collected about 5pm. If you take just the wheels in, then you save £10 per wheel plus VAT, but of course you've then got to get someone to put your tyres on, valves and balance etc.

I bought some Conti Sport Contact 3's off Blackcircles.com and they fitted them for me as part of the package (just paid the disposal charge for the old tyres).

Folks, I've got a 'Refer a Friend' form from the Wheel Specialist which entitles the 'friend' to a 15% discount, so if anyone is thinking of getting their alloys refurbed, let me know and I'll send you a jpeg of the form (it has my invoice no. on as a reference).

It's up to you though to check that they'll accept the discount but looking at the form there is no reason why not (other than mentioning at the time of booking).

Can't recommend them highly enough.

I paid 235 Euro's for a perfect job. Tires had to be removed before i delivered them.
Coater did a perfect job and I opted to have the original paint (new silver 19" potenza's) removed chemically. If I chose the glass/metall blast version it would have been 160 Euro's (but letters and sharp edges on the rims would have been rounded a bit since steel balls are a bit more agressive on metall).

In the end the wheels look perfect without any grains in the coat. The difference between a coater that knows how to paint wheels are the inside (mine look as good as the outside) and the centre's (these have to be covered before coating since paint on the centre's is asking voor trouble/vibrations).

I like! I had my Ibiza's alloys done in anthracite a few years back, but it was nowhere near that colour you've got, which was what I was wanting to achieve. I fancy getting the Leon's 18s done sometime as they're a bit scuffed in areas.

Very nice buddy, was considering doing the same, possibly slightly lighter. Have you got anymore pics? :D

Thanks mate, I'll get some more pictures up this weekend. They do look a little dark on these pictures (perhaps due to the time of day!) and I must admit I thought there were perhaps a bit too dark when I first got the car back, but after a couple of days, I'm loving them!

Next on the list are side skirts and getting the front bumper painted cupra style!

Had my Cupra OEM wheels coated in Anthracite last year. Had them done at the Manchester depot, they did a great job and I was pleased with the finish. I use them mainly as track day or winter wheels though as my BBS are my main choice.

However one thing I would say is to make sure that if they painted the hub face of the wheel like they did on mine, that its worth sanding this off or putting some copper slip on it.

I didn't, then went to Oulton Park and effectively the paint had welded my front wheels to the hubs :D

Took some serious heave-ho and booting to get the buggers off last summer when the BBS went back on.

All good now though.

Cheers, I liked the anthracite look against the black with my BBS rims, and the OEM SEAT rims were already flaking and hadn't actually been on the car any real length of time.

As I say most of the time I run it with the BBS rims on, but I got the OEM rims re-furbed so they look acceptable when I want them on, and as I'd keep the BBS to sell on, the OEM rims can go back on the car and it may even be a selling point. :)

Mark you got any pictures of your car with the standard wheel on? As need to get mine done and wondering what it would look like with a black car
