Windscreen replacement under warranty...?

My warranty is up at the end of the month and my windscreen has a bunch of stonechips on it so I was thinking of using the delaminating excuse to get it replaced...

The windscreen is actually starting to do just that, but only in a few places is the sort of clear/blue colour showing at the bottom of the screen, is this enough for them to change it?

What's the best way to go about asking them?

Cheers for any info!

I got mine done under warranty, it wasn't bad, probably a couple mm h1gh across about 2 12 inch sections. I just said "should the screen be doing that, and if not then I'd like it replaced".

I tried to get my delaminating screen replaced and they said no, it was worse than in the pic above. But my seat dealers are right ******s.

Hi. I had mine replaced at 1 year old with less white marks than in the pictures. It is a Health & Safety issue - no question as the glass is delaminating. Just hope that the fitters are half decent, I'm on my 3rd windscreen and without doubt the dealer replacement caused the most damage - paint scraped, excess bonding agent - it was even left on the inside of the A pillar and windscreen wipers out of sync as the removed the wiper arm - VCDS reset I believe?

Didn't know until then that Arnold Clark had their own glass business :ban: I think they stick to in house jobs.

I watched National Windscreens fit the second and it is a brutal process as they cheesewire bonding agent to get the glass out and it takes a bit of effort. They did a much better job but to be honest like most companies it's down to the individual fitter how good it is done. They also did it without removing the wipers so no hassle there.

If you have no luck with warrany it looks like you could be looking at paying up for glass excess:(

Hi

Had mine replaced with a about same amount showing as on yours. Dealer said had never heard of issue (?!) but checked with Seat UK & got replaced no problem.

Just make sure whoever replaces it uses high quality replacement windscreen to original fitment as a lower brand name (can't remember who) had a dodgy batch & some people had problems with them.

Definitely get it done though as will only get worse.

I have got mine booked in to have the windscreen replaced under waranty becasue of this problem. The worst thing is they want the car for 3 days to make sure Seat are going to cover it, so have got to put up with an under powered Ibiza loan car for the 3 days. At least I'll save money on fuel.
