Hi, my clutch has gone today and wanted to buy a solid fly wheel conversion kit but apparently there isn't one for a Leon mk1? Would an octovia one fit mine? As they are both auq engines? But would it make a difference as my Leon is a 6 speed box?

errrr cos the dual mass fly wheel are prone to failing and for something that isnt realiable id rather buy the solid one and have it lightened and balanced.

That solid one is already lighter than stock ;)

Can't remember who else does the kits, I liked the look of the Helix and it included a new uprated clutch hence why I went for it at the time. UK manufacturer too with plenty of experience to draw on ;)

just to stick my oar in, what do you guys think of your SMF kit? do you get any "chatter" (i think thats the word im looking for?)

I have seen a few videos where they sound like diesels on idle, but sound find when moving..

I do get chatter yes, its not the actual flywheel its the shafts turning in the gearbox. Nothing wrong with it but you can add an extra 0.5 litre of gearbox oil (through the speedo sensor hole) which will help to quieten things down.
