hi i was wondering if the 1.6 sport has traction control as i have been getting alot of wheel spin recently?

My Cupra has and if I pull away too quickly I get wheel spin too. It's a bit crap when the roads are wet tbh

Only if you added the optional XDS ESP pack afaik.

Mine's definitely not got any traction control.

Mine does and I nearly crapped myself last night when it kicked in. Thought the frikken engine was falling out the bottom of it hahahahahaha. Came off the A406 and put my foot down, road was wet so wheels wanted to do there own thing and the XDS kicked in, bang bang bang, wife screaming in the ear, what the effing hell do you think your doing???!!! I was surprised to say the least hahahahahaha

Mine doesn't have a warning light when it does this, but it feels and sounds like it's wheelspinning over a cattle grid.

I think thats "Axle Tramp" you are referring to.

Sport CR 1.6 TDi does not have traction control as a standard fit. You just need to lift the right foot a little when exiting wet corners!!

Does anyone know where the esp unit is located in the engine bay ? I need to find the part number written on it...

if you give the car more mechnical grip, (coilovers, sticky tyres, adjust camber/tracking/tyre pressures, reduce mass of car) all these systems cut in much later, at much higher loads.
