What else can I do to squeeze more POWA out of my LC......

Hey folks, it's your resident Asian seatcupra.net junky Mo,

As the title suggests, I own a LC (thank you, thank you) and I've done the following engine / performance modifications:

Apexi Air Filter
Creation Motorsport Turbo Intake Pipe TIP
Cold Air Intake
Forge 007p Yellow Spring
Toyosports Front Mount Intercooler
Toyosports Catch Can
PCV Removal
n249 Removal with resistor fitted
3" Down pipe
2.5" Pure de-cat
2.5" Milltek non-res
4 Bar FPR

Custom Stage 2 mapped, 227.4 Bhp @ 5964 & 244.6 lb ft

It's had a full service with Mobil 1 fully blah blah oil
Bosch Platinum Iridium Spark Plugs
Oil Filter
Fuel Filter
new MAF
new n75 Valve

I'm not convinced I'm running at it's full potential, I was hoping for at least 235Bhp with a custom Stage 2, I've read others have squeezed 240-250 from this set-up, my turbo's healthy, and engine is strong as confirmed by Vince from Stealth Racing, the clutch may be slipping ever so slightly but I'll get to that once on it's last legs.

What's next, please don't say Stage 3 / Big Turbo / K04 as i's not a believer of a front wheel drive car having more then 250Bhp, and besides I'd rather invest in a 4x4 Turbo

Am I chasing waterfalls ?

Portred manis will increase your flow and maybe get a bit more custom mapping might but tbh mate the turbo could be old and not be able to make the power just look at mine :(

My car is about 330-340bhp and the front wheels handle it fine believe it or not. K04 your leon of gt28 ;)

Water Methanol injection is cheap and if combined with a decent custom remap to take advantage of the potential (more boost, more timing) you'll certainly get more power. Search some 1.8t forums and you'll get loads of info. Badger5 also has some good threads.

same 250bhp is about the limit in a front wheel drive car anymore is waste if you ask me , it all the depends how much you willing to spend and , i was thinking myself interms of uprated cams , but i'd say sort the clutch before increasing boost or anymore timing.

Rather funny, I got also 227-230hp on my car, on a Stage 0 map meant for car with no mechanical mods :)

List of my mods here:

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?p=2364764

Out of the long list, most noticeable (butt dyno) mods were, even funnier, the 3" downpipe and opened airbox intake. Just after remap, the mechanically 100% stock engine limited itself to 185hp (it stood at 185hp almost from 3500rpm to 7000rpm).

@seatcupramad23: there was a fellow around who had as a signature: "My stock clutch lasted 123,000 miles. My SPEC clutch lasted 300 miles."

I have experience with 400Bhp+ jap turbo's if that counts for anything, a track car on the side, engine conversions...

perhaps i need experience with front wheel drive 250Bhp+ car then

Sigh

Anyway.......

Turbo's strong Sam, Vince gave it a once over, however i won't rule that out

You have a newer car, designed to handle more power better from front wheels etc, personal prefrence i guess but i'd spend that kind of money on a 4x4

It's just had a custom Stage 2 map Paul, about 12 sessions on the rollers

I've been reading in to this recently, I need to learn more

Really? what car do you drive and where did you get it dyno'd from? !!

Just because you've done a big turbo conversion on your LC don't make you an expert, £4000+ pounds later a 300Bhp sub standard 4x4 turbo would destroy you, so please keep your NEGATIVE comments to yourself

I`d say it does or have you actually driven my car?
Leave you to the benefit of your experience then :)

Yes I can imagine

1st Gear Wheel Spin
2nd Gear More Wheel Spin
3rd Yet even more Wheel Spin

New gearbox, new clutch every few thousand miles. Awesome.

Adam Cupra and I think the user name here was Kineticz managed around 240-250 I was wondering is thi for real on Stage 2 cupra with a small K03S turbo or happy dyno lottery?

How much difference would water / meth make?

original clutch and gearbox here what are you on about, wheelspin when I can turn the map down in real time for each gear?
i reckon 2/3 of the lcrs on here are well above 250 yet your saying there undriveable??

my conversion is 4 years old now.
Youd be better off doing some research before making sweeping statements without experience backing it up. :)

Anything over 250 in fwd is useless is absolute balls. Honda civics have been seen to run 8second quarter miles still FWD. Explain that?

Mo, mine made 232bhp and 242lb torque at P-Torque with just a TB blueflame system about 4 years back, since then have done pretty much all i can to extras, new fmic uprated hoses, catch can etc etc, just need to get it back for a stage 2,but to be honest cant see it making much more if anything, but will just smooth it all out, engines done 133000 so getting tired i'd say lol

I wouldn't want to be seen dead in this:

why would anyone want to spend that much on a Honda Civic is beyond me, I'd rather smear **** all over my face while Elton John is onlooking and ******* one off; then to be seen in that

Mo wmi (water meth injection) is the way to go. Wmi will keep things very cool. If you take a trip to bills and get wmi and a custom stage 2 map, he will have your car running its best and safest. The benifits of wmi are, cooler intake temps that allow more timing and boost to be added= more power. Less cf's and a clean engine. Water meth is know to to clean the inside of your engine. The kits cost around 300.

I'm looking in to this Sam, currently learning as much as possible for a WMI set-up.

On a side note if I was to BT a FWD car it would be a Leon, because it actually looks good too
