Hi guys I would like some help please.

Iv had my boc now for 2 weeks and I'm loving every minute of it so far there's just a few things I'm not familiar with and would like a few things answered if you would be so kind.

1. Iv done 1000 miles now does that mean its run in and I can have a bit of fun now?? I can still smell that new burn smell though?

2. It rained heavily last night and after I got home I noticed I had condensation in the corner of my headlights? Is that a leak somewhere? Has anyone else had this?

3. And most disturbingly I had seat powdercoat my wheels gloss black and I noticed that when I picked up my car on day 1 I noticed there was loose paint on all 4 wheels and there not smooth on places i can still see patches of silver. Has any one else had this and what should I do??

Sorry to babble on but I just want to enjoy my car like I should for the price you pay for a Boc. Thanks guys I would appreciate any advice. Mike.

TBH, I think with modern cars as long as you respect and abide by the warm up process and give the clutch and brakes a few miles to bed in, you can gradually build up the rpm during the first 500 miles. There's a distinct difference between going fast and abusing it badly!

2. It rained heavily last night and after I got home I noticed I had condensation in the corner of my headlights? Is that a leak somewhere? Has anyone else had this?

There should be a pipe at the back of the headlight to resolve this (let's condensation out). Had this on all previous SEAT's, but only get it on the S3 if I wash it on a cold morning. No biggy.

3. And most disturbingly I had seat powdercoat my wheels gloss black and I noticed that when I picked up my car on day 1 I noticed there was loose paint on all 4 wheels and there not smooth on places i can still see patches of silver. Has any one else had this and what should I do??

Never trust dealers with wheels, they tend to do the minimum required! Did they do it themselves or tender the job out to a wheel repair specialist. Take it back and politely ask them to resolve it, and suggest some goodwill gesture for inconvenience would be nice (free first service!!; optimistic).

Thanks that helps I will take them back cuz they sent them out under their own head cuz they said it would void warranty if I had them done. Plus it was easier to pick up the car done. I'll take them back. Also with the lights I didnt know if it was a problem as I have xenons I thought they should
Be completely air tight?
And I'm finding it hard to find a same middle as it is auto you either don't touch the peddle or your foot is down. It should be ok now.

Thanks Regards mike

Due to the heat produced by the bulbs I'm sure the manufacturers fit breather pipes at the headlamp units as the temperature differential between the bulb and ambient air temps are so great that the condensation that forms inside the headlamp unit would have nowhere to go once it cools down. It should be a small rubber hose on the rear of the headlamp unit.

Thanks I Had a look behind the bulbs just I took both caps off and on the one that formed the condensation there was brown on the xenon unit and not on the other one? Would that cause damage to the xenon or? Thanks

All clear headlights cause condensation mate, mine were also bad during winter time and I had some on the inside corners with all the rain we had recently. No problem unless you have a pool of water lying there mate.

Cheers mate that's a weight off my shoulders. I just panicked when I saw discolouration on the xenon unit. Cheers mike.

I have the same issue with condensation in my lamps. It is typical for clear lens

On my previous mk4 Ibiza I had 3 pairs of headlamps fitted in the first year as the condensation was so bad. Then SEAT decided it wouldn't fail an MOT and refused to fit any more. I haven't noticed any problems so far with the Mk5.
