Hey guys got a cupra tdi and plan to get it remapped in a years time when i finish uni next June and have more cash and my disposal

2 main questions realy

Which company do you guys recommend close to Birmingham for price, reputation, quality and value for money ?

2nd question - insurance is bad enough as it is, and i am with dirctline which dont allow any performance mods until 25, and i am only 23. I have only done very sutle visual mods and only realy want to get the car remapped (not bothered by coilovers, spacers ARRB etc)

Heard it is almost impossible for insurance companys to prove you have had your car remapped. Is this true ?

I know the risk of doing something like this and not declaring it as i took my struct brce of and sold it in fear of having my insurance void.

But if they dont know and cant see or even find a remap looking is it worth paying a load extra on your insurance if they can never realy catch you out ?

Thoughts please without going mental at me for saying this, as said know the risk and that many people on here are doing this, so dont judge me :p

Remappers around Birmingham...hmmm let me think..hmmmm.

Well that would be Performance torque then :D. My cupra tdi has had stage one performance torque map for about 20 months now. Best 260 quid i ever spent.

Officially and legally you have to declare your remap to the insurance company. Sky and Adrian flux are two best modded car insurers ive found. Direct line are always cheap for your first time quote.

All mods declared mate.

Almost impossible to detect maybe, but not so hard to find you on a forum if your username is your full real name and you happen to say on it's mapped on said forum ...

P-torque as mentioned, very well thought of on here

I personally always declare just for the piece of mind, but as stated may not be noticable, but technically it is an uninsured car if you dont

My insurance only wanted £40 for a chip with over 30% power increase, so definitely look into it before voiding your insurance.

As far as I know they're pretty easy to find if you know what you're looking for, just plug into the cars computer :/
