Hi guys,

I used to have a mk4 Ibiza Cupra petrol with revo stage 2 running 240bhp which was a great car and I always remember how quick it was off the line but I got to the point knowing that I couldnt really put any more power through the front wheels so I sold it and got myself a rwd Jap Nissan Silvia S14 (200sx) instead.
I have had the Silvia for a few years now and I have it running just over 300bhp, I really want to keep it as my weekend toy but anticipate having to sell to make way for family life. With that in mind and as I am now travelling 100 miles a day for work I was looking for a car that is in a low tax bracket, is good on fuel but also still has the power when I need it. My first thoughts were diesel Leon FR but then my attention came to the Mk5 Ibiza Cupra which ticks all of the boxes whilst still being a petrol.

I am at the point where I am agreeing on a deal for a Dec 2010 Black Magic Cupra with just over a 1000 miles on the clock and adding a spoiler and skirts but I was just wondering if anyone had any pics of the black cupra with the spoiler and skirts already on as I cant find anything unless I am not searching properly.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah someone posted up pics of his black mk5 cupra but think it was just a standard one...didn't see any pics of side skirts or spoiler on it, but a black cupra looks really nice when its all clean and shiny..my advice..invest in one :) I've got a crono yellow cupra and its drives really well and good on petrol..just mpg is abit crap when in city area but thats the same with most cars really

Thanks guys, I completed the agreement today so picking it up Friday, the spoiler and skirts are on order so will go on next week. Will post up pics as soon as they are. I must admit in the showroom the black didn't look brilliant but I am glad I went with it now because from the photos you guys have posted up and from seeing it in the dealers outside car park they do look mean. Can't wait til Friday!

As a bonus and i didnt realise this originally but because it's a dec 2010 reg I get the newer 2011 spec with updated ecu and a few other bits so well chuffed :)

Some do some don't. Mine is having oil consumption tests done at the moment.

Wouldn't worry about it, the warranty covers it if there are any problems just make sure you keep an eye on the level weekly, they can drink the stuff....like curry to a piss head!

Well i can only hope i am in the 'some dont' category but I will check every week. What oil does it use for future reference?

I like your white boca not so keen on the reds which it seems may be a general consensus given how many there are on seat approved used cars. They made it look so good as a concept though in that colour.

Great choice mate love mine :funk:

I use Castrol Edge 5w-30 fully synthetic mate its about £16.99 from Halfords. Used just over 1 litre from new (March 2011), dont know whats the going rate of consumptions but it drinks the stuff. Hopefully just the engine wearing in :D

Usually I'd check the oil in my car after it's settled, perhaps first thing in the morning, but I am sure I remember reading something about checking it shortly after it's been running, am I making this up of have I actually read this Somewere? And when do you guys check your oil levels?

says in the handbook to check after a few minutes of the engine running. I say thats a load of bollocks, have to leave it at least 45 mins to let the oil drain down. Normally I leave mine a couple of hours before checking

Just had my spoiler and skirts fitted today so have put up some photos I took quickly. Only thing I am not liking about the look of the car now is the big gaps in the arches !
