HHHEEEEELLLLPPPP MMMMEEEEEE

So as far as im aware my 06 plate ibiza FR is running a 1.8 20v BJX engine with a K03s Turbo Know Can Anyone Tell Me With The Standard Internals What Turbo Can I Upgrade To....????

I Already Have Miltek De-cat full systems re-map ect ect but i can get a cheap revo remap for £50 and don't want to waste it on just replacing the intercooler if im going to replace the intercooler for a FMIC (front mount intercooler) then i thought hey why not splash out on a big dirty Turbo which lets face it is where the fun is at :)

All I Want To Know Is Possible Replacements Well Bigger.

Can Anyone Help Me Pretty Please....?????? I Can't Find Any Information Anywhere, Not Even Google HaHa.........

Sorry is this doesnt make sense might have had one too many beers, Hence the thought occuring for a big turbo.

Thanks Again Guys/Gals.

with standard everything else bar turbo and exhaust i personally cant see you hitting anymore than around 250bhp on the basis that your smic will not be able to cope. to get a big turbo upgrade you really should upgrade the intercooler to a FM. justmy 2p's worth

Even the older / stronger stock rods (20mm) are living on a thin line past ~280bhp / 300lbft. Especially with a small turbos like K03/K04 hybrids (due torque spike).

Personally I would not go any higher than around 250bhp / 260lbft with the stock rods BJX engine uses (19mm).

All big turbo jokes aside, from my perspective, I am looking at a turbo swop in the next few months and would rather the engine was bomb proof before hand. I will deffo be swapping Rods when the time is right and maybe even pistons and valves

No need to do the pistons unless you want to lower the compression or used rods with larger wristpin.

You caould go IHI on standard internals as they produce a low torque figure,,

It would help if you told us your budget and power goals..

Depends how high the power. Standard pistons can take 400hp, some USA people are running above this on the bam pistons.

Gt2871r, personally and I'd go rods, valves, springs and retainers to be safe. Or less of a budget, like damo said go the ihi route with a vf34 or something. Torque comes in gradually rather than hard and low down.

I'd do a hell of allot of research first

Not all 20vt's have Mahle Pistons dont forget. The bam engine code does and that's about it

Yeah, actually...
It seems that only AMK, APY, ARX, AUL, BAM and BFV engines have forged pistons.
However pistons used in MK4 Ibiza 1.8T engines are made by Mahle.

The part number (Mahle) for these pistons is 0331600 (VAG 06B 107 065 N).
ETKA also specifies the vendor for these pistons as Mahle.

210/225/240hp variants use lower compression (8.9:1) version of the pistons.
Mahle part number 0331400 (VAG 06A 107 065 AB / 06A 107 065 BQ).
