Hi,

Just been advised that my front/rear pads & disks need doing. (1.8t 20v cupra, 2002)

What's the best option, bearing in mind I want to keep the costs down as much as possible.
Is it best to go for stock pads/disks etc? or can I get something semi decent for a reasonable price?

My friend says he thinks he can fit them for me but said he may have an issue doing the bearings at the same time as they need pressing? but he said he may be able to do it with sockets or something?

Any guides/tips would also be helpful so he could read up on the work involved..

why you touching the bearings when doing discs and pads ?
discs and pads piece of cake, bearing too, if you have acess to a press if not, take it to a local garage and get it pressed in and out, for some cash, be like a tennner

my friend said he may as well do the bearings at the same time as the disks & pads since they are super cheap? + the car has 80k miles and they have probably never been done.

Bearings aren't a service item. A lot more hassle for potentialy no gain. If there not noisey or have play in them, leave them be

Bearings if there not broke, dont fix them. They are still in perfect working order if there is no play
