got a quote from a mechanic today for my cambelt, water pump and tensioners for £120 all genuine parts and by a VW mechanic does this sound reasonable?

very. I'm in the same situation just now, got a price today for cambelt, waterpump, brake fluid service and major service for £380 inc parts and vat.

Is that price fitted ? Sounds fantastic... i'd be happy paying that just for OEM parts !

Thought I had a good deal at £250 for cambelt, tensioner, water pump and coolant change.

Can't moan at that price! Snap his hand off!

Mine was also overdue. I couldn't find out if it had been done at 60 when it should but even if it had it was due again due to age.

£120 is the discounted price for VAG dealerships and registered traders. Always good to know someone who has a discount card :D

Is that for the water pump as well? although that should have a £30 refundable deposit on return of the old pump if i remember correct?
