 strange.
by the way your pics above look amazing, must make you smile every time you look at your car, by the way what size spacers do you run on the rear. i was looking at 12mm but iirc there is a slight issue with the center hub being to long, can you shed any light on this?

Maybe, my mbc is set to 1.8bar so the waste gate should no be opening before this, strange how can't hold more than 1.4bar at redline, WG cracking open under pressure i wonder.I have 1.1bar preload for flip sake!

ha..

no surpises.
1.8bar is v.high rob....
None of the hybrids hold more boost than yours no matter what the feck you do with them.
flat out is flat out... wastegate nailed shut, no actuator on there at all, same high rpm boost... no matter what comp wheel is fitted

As you know this turbine is clipped to shite, its the only way i can get it to flow air by running high boost.Yes it flat out, fcuk it, no actuator control, it doesn't need it, thats all it can do, LOL.

i did the test on Danes. clipped turbine, 2283comp wheel, actuator locked shut. 22psi up top revs..... thats all it will do at those rpms.

i have data from several k04 hybrids now and none of them hold more than 22-23psi above 5500-6000rpm - all flat out

Interesting, i am following Danes thread on ASN alright.I thought there was a 2280 wheel in mine as i was plotting it on the comp map, as below, i was wondering why it could never reach its potential airflow and now CR say it a 2474 wheel, which i cannot find any info on anywhere.

This won't flow past what you see on the map :( i need to find a 2474 map now, god knows where though.

Its as dead as a door nail if i run it at 1.5bar/22psi across the rpm.

As i am getting older and the pot holes seem to be getting bigger becuase the government has no money to fix them, i thought i treat my back to a bit more comfort, i should have a set of Eibach Pro-Street-S coilovers coming in the next few days.I have coilovers at the mo, but damn there harsh and it will give me a chance to do an overhaul on the suspension, top mounts, bearings, bushes, ARB refit etc...

Can't wait to get them on.

Hows the car running Rob, is the wmi running at the moment.
Can you feel the difference in the cars performance when the wmi is running.

quality lcr my friend youve done enough work wish i had the money to do all that, have you done it all yourself?,

Hi mate, thanks, yeah I did everything apart from the turbo, rods and manifold, if i had a lift I would have done these but that's not an option at the moment.

Finally come out of the closet, not sure if I feel honoured or worried that you chose to do it in my build thread.

Hey up, the WMI rocks doesn't it, did Brian.g get back to you about the spacer, he seems to be MIA recently.

Did you up the timing yet? Or do any logs.I am only running water injection at the moment, i am getting no benefit from the methanol cause I have a problem with cylinder 2 pulling timing(like 5*) when all the rest are 0 Cf's, it's doing my head in, i can't get to the bottom of it.I am only running about 15* up top and its costing my bhp big time.

Apart from that she running well, i will have updates soon in the way of turbo porting, new coilovers and some other bits and bobs i have been at.

Robbie - despite what CR Turbo is telling you, that turbo sure is acting like it's got a 2280 wheel. But it's possible they sourced a 2474-series wheel from the turbo for Volvo's S60R. That car is running the 5324-970-7400 model turbo.

Regardless, I think your trouble is the clipped turbine rotor. I'm also seeing the same uninspired performance when I use a higher-flow wheel. An unclipped RS6 wheel is just going to transfer more of the exhaust energy to the compressor. Welly's turbo surely demonstrated that -- before CR clipped the turbine rotor.

I have withdrawn the sale, I was in the middle of purchasing an A4 B7 2.0 tfsi DTM limited edition, I had some nice plans for it, the sale fell through, but as fate would have it a new tuning opportunity has arisen for the 1.8t, stay tuned.......

Not going to spill the beans or do we have to guess?
Is this going to be a trial/bespoke setup or something we may have seen on other cars?
I am assuming its BT
