Brimmed my lcr the other day with tesco 99 momentum ready for a bit of a road trip. The car performed really well and i am pleased to report a 345 mile return to a tank. I had expected 280 tops so am well impressed. That wasn't hanging around either, bit of motorway, duel carriage way and A road sprited driving.

What do you guys normally get to a tank as i very rarely fill mine?

When I drove up to Trax at the beginning of this month I brimmed mine with momentum and got 38.1 mpg and roughly 450 miles with some spirited motorway and A road driving

Same here, about 450 miles on long drives on A roads not gunning it too much. I got stuck behind a load of slow moving traffic and my torque app showed an average of 41.8mpg even though my cluster was showing mid 30's.

I put £70 in mine on Tuesday when I picked it up from Aberdeen and even after the honeymoon period of giving it the beans now and then I still managed 295 miles before the light came on this evening.

I fill up to the brim with V-Power 3 or 4 times a month and always get 350+ miles before the light comes on. Give it some welly most days as well :D

That's mostly A-roads. On one long motorway cruise I got 430 miles out of a tank - filled up when trip computer was showing 0 miles left ;-) Stuck to 70-75 all the way, which was DULL!

I would say this is more realistic to the mpg of these cars!!! never got 450 miles or 40 mpg from mine ever!!!! 33mpg was the best. these arn't economic cars if you want that get a TDI!!!

If you want to get 40-50 mpg buy a Deisel!! LCR is made for getting home as quick as possible :)

how many litres are you all putting in when filling up?
In my experience if you fill up fairly shortly after the warning light comes on its going to be 55 litres?

this is 12.1 gallons.
So 345 from a tank is a little over 28mpg.
450 is around 37mpg.

FYI based on 55 litres:

miles + mpg

300 = 24.793
310 = 25.620
320 = 26.446
330 = 27.273
340 = 28.099
350 = 28.926
360 = 29.752
370 = 30.579
380 = 31.405
390 = 32.231
400 = 33.058
410 = 33.884
420 = 34.711
430 = 35.537
440 = 36.364
450 = 37.190
460 = 38.017
470 = 38.843

I have to say usually people on SCN would be reporting 23-29 mpg with most id say getting around 27mpg on their LCRs.
Seems we have managed to find the few who are getting more than this. Although im one of them :)

I always wonder when people quote these figures if they are using the trip computer or actually working it out. The trip computer (well, on mine and ever other mate who has a leon) is always higher than if you work it out properly.

But anyway - best I've had is 408 then a fill up of 48 litres which is 38mpg+ (And on those trips I was getting 44-46 on the computer) though that was because I was driving to and from MK the whole week through the 50mph limit zone. Worst was about 25mpg, but on average - with mixed driving 350 miles but varying mpg, depending on how fun the week was.

And I never wait for the light - ran out of petrol once - never again - as soon as I hit the last quarter, I'll fill up depending on where the next nearest Shell is.

I'd say that these cars are pretty decent in efficiency, even when caning it, especially considering how much fun they are :)
