Prefer the VW and Skoda versions tbh. Don't think this really fits in with the SEAT lineup. What's happened to the new Leon and facelifted Ibiza?

Me no likey! :(

Lazy and uninspiring design, cheap interior.

Looks like a flipping City Rover! There are nicer looking small city cars out there...

This city car market sector is way too crowded so unless Seat sell this one cheap as chips I can't see it being a sales success.

It's a "city" car with lots of cool features;

http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/AllCars/259385/

Its actually not bad IMO, maybe in a different colour, looks a lot better than it's competition, only thing which suprises me is it isn't tax exempt as it produces more than 100g of co2,

What do you think?

Says there is a tax excempt version on the article you posted.

CO2 ratings are just a shot in the dark anyway with tricks to fool the numbers hence the stop start system making the difference.

Pity the engines aren't so hot. It would probably be quite decent with a 1.2 TSI 105.

Yeah I did notice that, just thought it would of been below the threshold without having to add extra's,

The "Mii" name sounds tacky and does not fit the rest of the range. A second gen "Arosa" would have been better. I know it is based on the Up! - itself not much of a looker, but they really could have come up with a more stylish front end. A shame. Hope it looks better in the metal?
At least it gives SEAT something to sell in the ciy car segment.

I don't think anyone will argue that point. 'Arosa' would've given it some heritage, if nothing else. Great shame on most fronts, apart from the front. The more I look, the more I like, but couldn't live with the rest of the car.

For what it's worth, I think the interior "feel" will be down to trim level and options. Since it launches in Spain this year their website is already up, and there is a more tasty pic of a dash:

I think we can also assume SEAT and Skoda did as much as they were allowed to do in terms of making their car look different.

Better in red? http://www.seat.es/content/es/brand/es/models/mii/inicio.html

Looks okay from the front... interior is basic but what can you expect from a car that is priced as cheaply as possible. This car needs to be no more than £8k OTR to stand a chance.

Back end is rather ugly though. I can see this car being more popular with older people who don't care what car they drive than youngsters (who are more likely to care about appearance).

Sorry but that dash is nowhere close to "tasty" for me. Garish and possibly suitable for a teenager that has just passed their test, but those graphics on that horizontal plastic plank of a dash just looks like a tacky afterthought...

Not for me I'm afraid...

I believe SEAT said they would release an ecomotive version which would be tax exempt but probably crap. They also said they would release a sporty version, which defeats the point of the city car, although from the pictures that I've seen (photoshopped or not) the sport version actually doesn't look too bad. They should have released the standard Mii with the sport exterior, then it'd be a hot city car.

EDIT: I cannot criticise this car, as iirc one of the 1.0L engines it comes with produces 74bhp, the same as my Ibiza. FML.

having read all the replies, one thing i've realised is...

how many members on here are actually in the market to buy a small 'city' car?
very few, if none?
i'll be amazed if someone signs up with one who hasn't already owned a SEAT
we're all looking at from the direction of already owning a SEAT, most probably in some sort of 'sporty' form so it's easy to put it down.
there are people out there who will want new car for 8k or less & maybe just want something with 4 wheels to get from A>B

Looks like a shrunken Alhambra. Nasty. It'll probably look better in the metal. What's it got to compete against anyway? The Toycitpug C10go is bloody awful, Peroduas are awful, Sukuzi Alto, Daihatsu Charade, Mitsubishi Colt, New Micra, all ****ing terrible.

*Like* :cartman: but sooooo true. As long as it has a decent price tag attached to it's badge, which, being a SEAT, 'bottom of the VAG ladder' so to speak, it likely will, Its not that bad. IF they sorted the rear end a little better (maybe use the Q7/Insignia estate idea of rear lights in the boot itself :hint: ) and released a sporty 1.4tsi version, I would be buying for sure! Having a new job 20 miles away (40 miles mon-fri) I could use a newer car...... :(

I'm of the same opinion now.... The rear lock seems to really let it down.

You can live with the lower spec interior, as it's that much cheaper than the rest of the range. But the tailgate is a let down. The only thing that springs to mind is weight, because the top of the bootlid is glass, not steel framed.

I'll be interested in a drive though, to see how economical (and fun) it might be.
