Just found out today that i need a new abs unit as iv got a faulty one on my 56 Altea tdi fr .
Iv just sent an e.mail to seat uk to find out if there are any recalls on them as it appears its a common problem throughout the Seat,Vw,Audi,Skoda cars range .
I had also read somewhere that VW have been replacing faulty Abs units FOC on cars out of warranty .
does anyone know if this is the case or was it just crap . i thought it would be worth a try to e.mail seat but no cheek no chance .
anyone else had this problem

Thanks

You can buy a repair kit now cetainly from VW not sure about Seat. Its the same unit though so the repair kit is good for the seat. Costs about £180 inc vat. You just remove the pump, unscrew the two halfs of the pump, fit the new valve block from the repair kit and refit it and bleed the brakes. Or there are various companies now offering the whole job for about £400ish.
