my fault reader displays the following (u380 scanner)

It reads: / 1.DTC / FAULT: 01 PEND: 00 / N/A 01/01

Also under 3. I/M / MISFIRE N/A / FUEL READY / CCM READY / CAT N/A / HCM N/A / EVAP N/A / 2AIR N/A A/C N/A / 02S N/A / HO2S N/A / EGR READY.

reset the light and it came back on

the car is running well with no apparent faults just the light is on

Has anybody came across this before

i think so, but no idea. don't use fruit or access to see. search the app library should find something?

need a code we can understand to help better i'm afraid.
put a request in the vag-com request section and someone local can do a proper scan for you.

I have had a glow plug light warning for the last 6 mths , been lazy and not sorted it yet. think they are about £10 / £12 from steelers each, pop em in and get warning reset and good to go.

glow plugs are only used to start a car and only when temp i sbelow 3or5 degrees C outside, so no i wouldn't expect to make a difference when driving.
that code is a proper code.
search the tdi section and i'm sure you'll get a few hits.

one will be change all 4 of them before winter kicks in and you need them to start your car in a morning.
ross-tech wiki site will also advise on fault your getting as well
