what engine can i get, need help please :D

Hi guys, right, I could do with some help in knowing what engine I can swap for my 1.4 8v, without having to change wiring loom.

The problem I have is my engine is burning oil and instead of farting about fixing it, I just want to swap it.
I can't find another 1.4 anywhere for sale, so would an engine such as 1.6 8v fit?

Any suggestions appreciated, thanks

Wait it out if you can. Swapping it for another engine really isn't worth the hassle mate. Fair enough if you'd be going down the 1.8T / VR6 route, but 1.6, nah sorry

Hmmm, I was thinking that, am just waiting for it to seize up though, am going through about 4 litre of oil every month lol, and clutch needs changing anyway, so I thought I may aswell swap engine whilst the box us out. But I can't find another 1.4 anyway.
Would love a vr6

1.4 out of an ibiza or a polo will do... match engine codes though to make sure everything wires up the same... if push comes to shove, im sure the heads and blocks will be the same for most 1.4 engines so if there was anything different you could just swap the old parts over

There is a 1.4 APQ engine on ebay located in batley for £100....in fact theres about 10 varying in price? Cant help but think you havent looked that hard....
