This may take a while to explain.Tdi stutters when cold sometimes, other than that it,s driveable.Today it took a while to start (normally on the button ) then cut out.
Restarted and it seemed ok,till 1mile down road then oil light flashing and beeping then it juddered to a halt. Restarted ok and that fault hasn,t returned over todays driving (40 odd miles ) but the glow plug light flashed a few times .
Done some digging and read about this relay 109 problem, dodgy oil pressure switch, and a dodgy brake pedal switch.
Checked oil and its just under max.Driving around with 4 in ,the car hasn,t put a foot wrong this afternoon.
Was serviced 4k ago so its not the fuel filter.
Would it be worth changing this relay 109 first, and could this relay be linked to stuttering when cold rather than the egr valve ?
Would a code reader be of any use with it being a 2001 model ?

Just had phone call, stuck in petrol station,5 attempts to start it.Said it didn,t sound like it normally does when turning ignition on.That to me sounds like the pump not priming.

The oil light flashing and the buzzer sounding means low oil PRESSURE, not low oil level. If the engine is very worn, or the oil pump is worn or has failed, you can get low oil pressure even if the oil level is at maximum.

The idea of the buzzer sounding on VW group cars is to get you to stop the car IMMEDIATELY to avoid serious damage to the engine. If you cannot start the car, then it would appear that there may also be a safety interlock to prevent the car being driven after the alarm has sounded.

You must not drive the car and you should have it towed to a SEAT/VW specialist to have the problem diagnosed and an estimate given for repairs. At the risk of repeating myself, DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR. Don't even start the engine.

Let's hope that there has been no serious damage and the repair isn't too costly.
