i have a really bad short to ground on my MK3 cupra

as above got these fault codes and cars running **** i recently took the inlet manni of and polished i cant find where i might of missed an earth of a wire could be touching any help would be great :)

the only bolts missing are

1) the bolt the bolts into the head bolting the carbon canister pipe down (top left of the head tight at the back)

2) the bolt that goes underneathe the manni on the TB side to the right of the little tray theat goes through onto the big black bracket.

i can get pictures if need to moz but this is kill me as neither the MAf or lamders are working so it drinking fuel like a cheep hooker!!!

Forgot to say car starts fine every time never an issue but you smell it overfueling like fook!!

The main earth strap to the battery? I'll give that a go tomoz did you get the same codes?

Yep more or less the same codes mate all of them where either short to ground or signal too low! So yeah i just took my battery off charged it up a little then made the earth to the body nice and clean and shiny again. All i was left with after was my n249 fault hence bypass ;) its worth a try as it dont take long lol i had around 12 codes before i did it!(

spoke to bill and said its a live not an earth nik at R tech thinks it water ingress into ECU ive unpluged ECU and sprayed WD40 in the conections to see if that help but nothing check the earths from the battery etc there fine im stumped!!

the new code doesnt i got that once with just the ignition on after clearing the codes

started car scanned it turned it cleared them put ignition on but didnt start it and scanned and the 18048 came up started it they all came back cleared them but left it running and 6 came back every sensor/solenoid saying short to ground!!!
