My wifes last golf pd done this and I topped the level up just above the max and it never done this again.
From research I done at the time it seems common. People changed the bottle with sensor but most topped up the level and that stopped it.

I'm sure the bottle says g12+ which is red.
Don't mix it but halfords will have some g12+ compatible coolant for you.

Topping it up didn't help mine. Mine turned out to need new coolant housing and pipe.

you don´t need to be worried about it if you´ve got the warrnig only when the outside temperature drops below zero. This is very common problem through VW group. Anyway you can get rid of it by replacing the coolant tank, it´s not expensive, about 20 Euros including sensor, which is part of the tank as far as I know.
