always fully synthetic if you care for your engine.
most vw 504.00 spec oils are 5w-30 but not all 5w-30 oils have the vw504.00 spec approval.
so you cant just buy any 5w-30 oil, if you know what i mean
you have to look on the back site of the bottle to see if "vw 504.00" is on the spec!
No not at all who said I wanted to put cheap oil init? Just saying its expensive its the most expensive 1 not used to it thats all used to pay around 30 for civic vti s
personally i think that the 5W-30 is to thin for a performance turbo engine, that is why i use Castrol Magnatec Professional B4 5W-40 on my engine. this oil have the vw spec 502.00. not sure if you can buy this oil on the web any where?
vw spec 502.00 is not a wrong spec. vw spec 502.00 is what oil is recommended by the leon owners manual.
the vw spec 504.00 just covers the older vw spec 502.00.
most vw spec 502.00 oil are 5W-40 or 0w-40 oils.
I would personally go with the 5-30 oil, imo the engineers have designed the oil galleries and hose to suit a certain viscosity, once it gets hot the thicker oils will struggle to get to those parts.
