i would like one that fills up both the spaces on the dash not just the 1. (double din i think?)
would like to have dvd playing capabilities and blue connection at the least.
would like it to have sav-nav but its not a must.

im not very good with head units so any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Id stay clear of the ebay non brand ones going for about £200 or so... my mates had 2 up to now n had nothing but issues with them. with a £500 budget u could easily get yourself a pioneer or alpine unit.

Pioneer or Sony. Alpine are very good aswell.

You may want to upgrade your car's security too, double dins are quite attractive to be stolen

Indeed... insurance companies dont tend to pay out either if its not been declared and £600 is not something id be too happy to have stolen

I have just upgraded the Alana to a decent enough Alpine head unit... its nothing fancy but does what i need with Ipod connectivity and an AUX port. bargain from halfords!! Chuffed!:D
its the Alpine CDE W203Ri... fits and works great!

Ahh i see... as far as i kno there is a way to get bluetooth on mine but it involves an expensive module.. which i wont be buying anytime soon! The slide down cover sounds interesting however.

There is a way of solving this 'losing memory' issue with alpines, from what iv read it involves switching two wires (red and yellow) over in the ISO block... im no expert at these things and nowhere near electrical minded so its going in to a specialist tommorow, not to mention iv jammed the unit in so far, i cant get the sod back out!

So managed to sort out the Head unit properly now.. going to the garage was a complete waste of time as the guy was being a complete tool and suggesting i needed to buy x, y and z from his shop, and for a 'professional' couldnt find a way of taking the unit back out so decided to ram a screwdriver into the CD slot... which is where i drew the line and said leave it i shall either do it myself or live with it as it is. [:@]

Eventually i manage to get the unit out with a few skinned fingers at the end of it... but it was out! changed the two wires around (red and yellow) which has to connections along the wire you simply pull apart and reattach... and bingo the unit has memory! now all my settings are saved!

Have you got steering wheel controls on yours ?
Or could anyone point me in the right direction to get the right ones.
Cheers

thats the same as the one i purchased, great bit of kit, has everything (USB, CD, SD card, Sat Nav, Bluetooth, Aux input etc) you need except DVD play back but you can compress video files onto the SD if your really that bothered abuot film playback, the front fascia can also be removed as well and stored in the case provided. Also works with the wheel controls once you purchase the additional adapter
