Diverter valve failure?

On the way home from work tonight I noticed my tfsi sport wasn't boosting correctly, if at all, and had a hissing noise from around 2500rpm. I'm still on the original OEM diverter valve so I'm guessing (and hoping) that's the issue. Is that what it sounds like?

I had a quick search, but couldn't see many posts with symptoms.

This sounds very much like what happened to my old 07 plate Fr which was the diverter valve.
If your running the earlier type which you will on a sport I'd change to the rev d valve and see. Think they are around £50 from Seremotors on here.

Diaphram has ripped...

Replace it and it should be fine - But the DV is annoying to remove as it sits right next to the turbo I think it uses T25 Bolts too (not 100% sure on this...)

When mine done it I just had little to no boost and it didn't sound as smooth on acceleration but had no warning light on.
As soon as I replaced the diverter valve you realise how much boost you've been losing.
