Seat 2.1 media system update

Hi all, I have the RNS510 media system which has the SD card slot in the front.
I was wondering how do I update it? Because it only has the 4/5 digit postcode input and it seems the maps are slightly out of date and missing a few roads.

Is this something the stealer will do? And will it cost?

i assume the maps are on the sd card ? if so then i'm sure you can upload new maps/data via the internet and save them to the card ?

No Im guessing it must have a hard drive built in. As it didnt come with a SD card and the one i use is only for music?

oh sorry i miss read that , your sd slot is for media then , then tbh id take it to main dealer or hopefully someone on here will have the ability to fix it for you

Dealer update is about 150 new one every June and is done via SD card on the 2.1

Really? Is there an aftermarket one? All I really want is the full postcode input?

Not as an update no but you never know they may make it available in the next update, although I wouldn't hold my breath

The Seat Media System v2.1 and the RNS510 are not the same thing.

The Seat version of the RNS510 does not have a SD card slot in the front and is not capable of full postcode search whatever version of map you have installed. The problem is with the unit's firmware (FW) and Seat haven't bothered releasing FW to support full postcode search. The RNS510 installed in VWs does have a SD slot in the front and also has had FW released to support full postcode search.

There are 3 versions of the Seat Media System, 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2. Reading the forum it would see only the 2.1 does not support full postcode search.
