Awful fuel consumption!?

Hi guys, ive got an 02 Cupra and im struggling to hit 30mpg in 6th steady motorway cruising!

Changed the thermostat and temp sender hoping that would cure it as they were both knackered but im no better off!

Where do I start looking next!?

Personally I wudnt complain at 30 mpg mine does that to on the motorway in 6th. On some ocassions it goes up to 33

Ive had 3 previously and gotten nearer 40!

when you say motorway cruising... what speed does this actually mean? honestly..

Between 60-80 usually 60 is traffic is heavy

ok, so 80on the motorway and so 30mpg is good.

lambada sensor ? worth checking that out, sometimes this will not show up on vag.com

Spend more time doing 50-60 - My 1.8 carb mk2 Golf got better fuel consumption than the Leon does, and its worse than the 3 ive owned prior

see mines averaging around 38-40 same engine same mph roughly. maybe something is wrong.

Try going on the FAQs page and doing a VAGCOM throttle body reset. Its free (if u know someone with the system already) and wont harm to do?

The best i can get is about 34mpg @ about 70mph
