So... Last time I filled up with Tesco Momentum and I DO get more miles from it.

MPG: 49.3
L/100km: 5.7
Miles: 542.0
Litres: 50.000

Now I gues the challenge has to be 600 miles from a tank of petrol!

Mine wasn't even totally empty so I couold have got a few more miles out of it, but I had to drive to work (16 miles) and knew I didn't have enough to make it there and back - there isn't a petrol station near enough to work that I could've gone to at lunchtime.

There's one on argyle street, not far from the squinty bridge. Good going for a 1.2, bet it was boring though!

When do you change? Mine seems to labour at anything below 2k and 2.5k uphill

Erm.. about 2K ish, never more than 3k I don't think unless I'm caining it.
Have you got a standard air filter? I found the K&N panel filter helps a lot in the lower rev range, because it can breath more easily.
One of the other things I do is take my foot off the accelerator when going downhill, you don't use any fuel doing so and usually don't drop any speed.

Yes it has the standard filter on mate, considering an upgrade to the k&n though. Another thing is my lambda sensor has gone so dcould that damage my MPG?

Cheers :)

You only went above 3k a couple of times? Jesus, you must have had some patient drivers behind you!

I can get about 350 miles to a tank and that's about it. But I also can't get as much fuel in the car as you do!

You will be able to. Just keep letting the air out every time it clicks. I've even tried holding the switch down and filling at the same time and got loads more than 45l in.

With a diesel lol! Not really sure what it's all about tbh, but imagine it's for cars with proper power?

There where plenty of diesels there last year, it's not all about going down the strip and getting the fastest time. It's the one chance all the Scottish members can get together in the one place. I won't be going down the strip this year and I didn't last year, there's no point with a 1.2  Who would I race against??
We had a pretty good time last year, there where a few other clubs there last year running their cars down the strip as well as us and part of the fun for me was driving up there in a massive convoy of 40+ seats!
You should come along!
I'm sure Scott is organising a convoy leaving from Ayshire on the Sunday morning to meet up with us as at the Showcase.

Well it's been a while since I've updated this thread.

Haven't been up to much recently, my cycling was brought to an abrupt end at the end of November when I came off the bike at around 30mph and done some serious damage to my shoulder.
Was about 3 weeks before I could drive properly as I could hardly move my left arm, changing gear was a bit difficult.
Things are getting better now and and back on the bike again and I'm working on building up some strength in my shoulder again.
Nothing much has chnaged with the car since last year.
I found recently rear brakes where seizing and the handbrake no longer worked.
Quick inspection found that both sets of rear brakes needed replacing, I'll take this opertunity now to say I had building self adjusting drum brake assemblies!

Also found a wee hole either side of the flexi on the exhaust.
