Check out "Hamman mod TDI warm start" Apparently it's a mod for the pd and warm starting problems, I haven't checked it out myself though but it's supposed to work.

It cost, I think, around 140-180. Paid for an hours labour and parts. Euro car parts have the price of the part.

Sorted mine the weekend! Woop!
Cleaned the battery terminals and put a new battery on!
Hot starts no problem!

the fuel temp sender on the head also gives similar symptoms to this when duff

My PD130 also became bad to start when hot
I'm reading up on the Hammand Mod to trick the ECU into a different map if the engine can't reach 280rpm when hot
has anyone tried this?

I was going to replace both my starter and battery but discovered that the connection from the solenoid into the starter casing wasn't as tight as it could be so nipped that up together with a new battery and finally after a year of poor hot starting it now zips over and fires straight away
