good evening all, iv just brought a mint condition cupra r interiour for dirt cheep, im having a problem with the frame for the leather gear gaitor not fitting in the hole in the toledo, it all came from a 2002 cupra r (red stiching) and is going in to my 2004 toledo sport. has anyone had this problem or is there something im missing as i thought the cars are the same except for the boot lid?

ok because of the overwhelming amount of replies:cry: iv done some digging and found a thread in the Leon section that suggests that the 5 and 6 speed has different center consoles to each other anyone able to confirm this?

But your 20VT has (or should have) a six-speed 02M box, as does the LCR. In any case I don't see any reason for the center console to be different for the different gearboxes that can be found in various Leon or Toledo models, the insides are pure Mk.IV Golf as far as I know.

It is, I suppose, possible that the LCR has a different center console to the other Leons. It has a lot of other parts that are specific to that model.

well it wont fit in at all tryed every way round, i took the center out today whilst fitting seats to have a look and the hole is 9mm smaller than the frame, fed up with the thing now and refitted my toledo one.

The plastic frame bit in the bottom of the boot should pop out then you could fit your original one into the cupra gear gaitor/boot thing and clip it in.

im planning on getting a cupra r center console because the frame is on the outside on the cupra one ie: leather goes over the frame on the toledo and i was planning to wrap the frame in carbon to match my interiour, but then saw the brother-in-laws v5 with the ashtray
in it so might modify one to fit the cupra frame (hope that made sence)

You could maybe check out golf ones too, have you not got any mates with a Mk4 golf? Might be worth a shot as they'll be easy to get hold of.
