Hi lads all went good on friday when i picked the fr up carnt believe how much poke she has for a diesel lot faster than my passat estate 4motion pdtdi 170 [mapped]. The only issue is that the seat garage said that they would mot,tax and service the car for me they forgot to stamp the book so they said send it back recorded and they would stamp it which is great. The point im getting at is they said any job with it bein a seat garage would be done and my cambelt is due its a 56 plate with 59000 on the clock. Am i gonna be fighting a losing battle or should they have done this as they say rule of thumb is 80000 or 4 years which ever is sooner. missus is phone previous garage in the history to see if they had done it but the book is saying no. How much is it roughlt to have the cambelt done is it belt tensionors and waterpump to get it done proper.
I will get it cleaned later and post some pics up later tonight for all to admire.

I think I paid around £380 for full cambelt & tensioner and a full service, this was at my local trusted garage as I don't care much for the dealer 'engineers'. I got a quote from a local VW specialist and Seat who both came in more expensive but cannot remember how much more.

I would certainly chase up the dealer and see if they will pay for it. Failing that I would ring around Seat, VW and Skoda garages for a quote. If you have a good local garage I would use them if the price was right.

best to get the Cambelt, Tensioners and Water Pump all done at the same time. think i paid 125 for the belt tensions and water pump from SERE and got the ex Seat Fitter to do it all for £85 ;) that was however a few years back.

Cambelt , Service - Altea TDI

I believe under the recently introduced fixed price servicing from SEAT that the belt and tensioner would be done for £299. If you include the Waterpump in that i expect you wouldn't get any change from £420.
Last Cambelt Tensioner and Major Service i had done was going to be £545 at a dealer.
It was then rounded down to £499 Inclusive.

got a price of £325 for cambelt tensioners and waterpump just in conflict with the garage thow as i think they should pay. Seat say cambelt should be done at 80000 miles unless your car is 4 years old or older then it goes down to 40000.
