Black LCR (04) Paint Code

There are a number of different paint codes of black (Flat, Metallic etc). Normal places are in the boot, lift up the floor mat like you were getting the spare, and there should be a sticker on the bodywork. Cant remember exactly where it is on there (You will get the VIN and other bits there, but if you take a pic or write it all down we should be able to tell you.
Also, should be the same sticker on the first page of your handbook.

Thanks Jonathan, I know this and I should have said in my thread that my car is in the car park about a mile away so can't look. I'm looking to get the bodyshop to order the paint now so not to delay.
So anyone with quick access to their Black LCR that could tell me would be much appreciated

I don't have an LCR. I do have some iofo about the brochure colours available.
The only black listed for LCR's is Ebony Black, Z9W, a pearlescent finish.
I'm surprised to find that Black Magic metallic, C9Z, is not listed for LCR's. I'm sure there are people on the forum who have Black Magic LCR's.
The other common VAG black is a very old one, Black 041. This is not listed as a finish for LC or LCR though.
But you should most definitely look at your service book or under the carpet in the boot for the build sticker which will tell you what colour the factory painted it. I think you could get any colour as an option.

The L in front of the paint code stands for Lackierung, which translates to finish, i.e. the paint finish.

What I have from other people's records of the brochure colours says that the LCR came in five different colours, two of them reds:
P3G Flash Red
S3H Emocion Red
S1H Ovni Yellow (OVNI is spanish for UFO so that should really be UFO Yellow)
S7Y Luna Grey
Z9W Ebony Black
The Luna Grey is only listed for 2005.
This is third hand knowledge, though, so should be taken with due caution.

Z9w is a code for a pearl black though which the lcr never came in.
