Leon Cupra Stage 1.5 tune - Advice/opinions?

Hi All,

Just had an interesting chat with a guy at PDT (http://www.dyno-tuning.co.uk/)

I am looking for an increase in power to around 310-320bhp and this is what we discussed :-

Custom remap (Stage 1.5)
Forge twintake
precat removal

With these modifications I was advised I could see the power increase I am looking for. I am not interested in changing the exhaust system as i'm looking for modifications that are easily changeable to put the car back to standard. I also don't want the car to be too noisy.

Any opinions or advice on the above?

Cheers!

you can get 310-320 from a stage 1 remap you dont need anything else

if your looking for a smooth map the APR is probably your best bet as most people I know find REVO a bit aggressive in comparison,

It will be absolutely fine reliability wise, nd if you want more noise look at an intake, ITG and VWR come to mind

Yeah, I discussed the kind of power delivery I am looking for which is why i'm going for a custom remap.

I mentioned the Forge Twintake in my original post ;)

Its all very well going custom but on newer cars I'm inclined to get a tried and tested remap

and yep just spotted that :)

Once u remove the pre-cat you can't put it back again. Money better spent on a downpipe, that will make it sound nicer

Just spoke to the guys doing the work and the Miltek kits they use don't do a downpipe only kit, it's either decat or sports cat which I don't want. Do you know who supplies the downpipe only?

Had the remap done......

The original dyno readout was with the precat removed.

The Twintake didn't arrive so the garage is sending it to me and i'll fit it myself.

Quite happy with the difference, although hoping that improved airflow will improve things a bit more at the higher end of the rev range once i've fitted the Twintake :)

for a stage 1 with a downpipe it looks pretty low on the power front

lovely smooth graph thou

Yeah, I have to say I agree, I expected the figures to be a bit higher. I'm not too bogged down by the figures though.... a nice smooth graph is more important to me for this car. I'll see how she feels with the Twintake and take her back for another dyno run.

Pretty good going on the standard intake, I saw 10bhp standard map in just fitting the itg intake with just one run on the rollers and no runs on the road to get the ecu to learn a bit.

Power looks spot on to me. Dyno dynamics rollers are always consistent and just ignore the people who think 315hp is achievable from a remap. With the twintake and the pre cat removal you'd be looking at around 320hp.

Its been proven more than once that 320 is achievable and 330 with an intake alone

Mature reply well done give yourself a round of applause

:clap::clap::clap:

Im just not naive enough to believe ridiculous power claims from a stage 1 map. I made 420hp on a dyno once doesnt mean its proven!

If you want crazy power figures go on superchips dyno.
