TERRIBLE service from SEAT UK and my dealer

I have had problems with knocking from the rear of my 10000 miles Cupra R which is 19 months old.
After looking in to the fault myself I worked out the rear shock absorbers were causing my noise.
My local dealer replaced one shocker under warranty which cured the noise on one side but the other was still there.
I was getting fobbed off that the shocker did not have a mechanical failure (just a noise) so the dealer had no way to claim this under warranty:confused:
After contacting Seat UK I eventually got fobbed off by them saying they could not over turn a Dealers decision.
The top and bottom of it is I've had to buy and repair the car myself due to the total lack of customer service from my dealer and Seat UK.
So the question is why should anyone buy a Seat under warranty when you get tret like this?
My car has only been in for warranty work for this one complaint so not regular complainer.
Also to fit one shock absorber to a performance car is totally unprofessional anyway but my dealers not bothered about this.

I also think they are being awkward because I never bought this car from them but they didn't have one for sale.
This is my 2nd Seat my wife has one my dad has one my brother has one well guess what I won't buy another for me or the wife.

Absoloutely TERRIBLE service.

I just kept being told they couldn't overturn a warranty decision.
I kept saying they were customer care and I'm their customer and was getting nowhere with the dealer.
The best they wanted to do was leave it till my car was due service at end of June and let the dealer have another look.
I'm not willing to put up with my noise for another 2 months.
How would you go about escalating it and what happens?

Thanks for your input.

Call Customer care again and ask them to escalate it to the next level, if you still get nowhere let me know

I've already ordered the part from Dave now to fix it.
Once I've fitted it and cured the problem I'm going back into the dealer showing them the defective part then I'm going to recontact Seat to see if I can be reimbursed.
I shouldn't have jumped the gun and ordered the part but it costs £10 a time on fuel to go to the dealer and I've been 4 times and a shocker is only £55 although that's not the point.

unless you bought the car new Seat cant force dealers to do anything, your best way is go right to the top depending how big a company the stealers are.

this is something i found out in past few weeks that if you bought the car used from a dealer you have as few rights as you do buying privately, which is crap really.

in summary dealers have all these fancy showrooms which have to be paid for by hook or by crook, usually its the latter

Thanks for your input.
As I didn't buy the car from this dealer I think that me be part of the problem.
As I say I've fixed my car now.

Also had it into my supplying dealer today for its second service.
The dealer is 90 miles from me but the service was free as part of the deal when I bought the car.
If I was closer to them I don't think warranty would be an issue with them.

I was very pleased with the service I received at Arnold Clark Seafield road Edinburgh today for my service.

Had to add my Tuppence worh, when I had problems with my New SEAT,SEAT UK did absolutely nothing to help "each dealer is a franchise" . If it wasnt for the Sunday Papers I dont think it would be sorted yet.

Seat UK don't do anything to secure any future business do they?
In a few years when everyone's fed up of being fobbed off they'll be struggling to sell new cars.

I feel for you pal definatley a terrible service, I mean you go buy a new car and give SEAT your hard earnt money and feel that you can rest assured that your money is well spent but they dont seem to care once they have taken payment you shouldnt have to pay for something which should be replaced under warranty , SEAT UK are useless all they do is call the dealer and tell them the same thing you could have done personally in my experience contacting SEAT UK was a waste of time.

Yeah you hit the nail on the head.
We should stop buying there cars well the ones in warranty at least and then we don't need to use the terrible dealer network or the whole after sales setup they think they have
