Judging by the timing (and what I've talked to "people" about) and past performance

Preview at Paris Motorshow - Septemer
Launch EU by December
Launch UK by February - cooking models & FR
Cupra by Feb 2014, maybe October as MY14 Model if it's well complete

Suspect Cupra will be like the FR images, with black bits & +1" on the wheels - also imagining a lot more DSG only models as all the industries seem to be shifting that way now.

All of that assumes 5 Door, SC are launched together, and ST to follow

I'm already wanting an SC & ST to replace our current fleet.

Unusual for an FR to be unveiled so early, but of this will be a launch trim now FR no longer is the semi-hot model. Hopefully means we won't have to wait as long as usual to see the Cupra.

Check the speedo & rpm range on the FR interior - 260km/h & 7000rpm

I bet that's a decent engine in there for launch.

That does mean the Cupra with be the 'old' FR and we'll all actually want to wait for the new LCR :(

Had a quick play. Quick and dirty photoshop of how the Cupra could look, taking cues from the Ibiza Cupra Concept.

Two versions.

I really like the new Leon, it does hame some influences from both Mk1 and Mk2 if you look at that way. Also it's close to Audi's and VW's current 'edgy' design.

Like the looks of it. Interior is so so, but you get use to it assume.
Hopefully this time they will skip the Cupra version and have a Cupra R instead that will have more aggressive exterior.
Then the question is what engine the would fit it. Current new Golf R MK6 is running the TFSI. So question is if the new coming A3 will have a new S3 engine, they should. Probably it will be a TSI version with bigger turbo that will go into the S3 and then to the cupra r.

1.6TSI introduction into the range in the cupra? I have been studying the pictures on the previous page and a few others in another thread here which shows both sides of the car, anyone else noticed that you cannot see a petrol flap anywhere on the car?

Looks like a a3 and ibiza . It is defo more toned down compared to the lines on a mk2 . May have to c one to like it but from the pics it just looks like every other hatchbk on the road a a3 . Was hoping to c seat pull sumate better off after the mk2 with its defined lines . The back of the car looks the worse with its big bumper ,looks abit a1ish and tbh i think the a1 is a spaz wagon
