One thing you shouldn't waste your money on is engine performance mods, there really isn't anything extra to be had out of the 1.2

If you want to make it sound a little more cheeky, try a different air filter (cheap and cheerful) regular servicing as phillpotts92 said is a great idea, a slight drop in ride height will make it sit a lot nicer too.

Losing the spare wheel is a good shout (replace it with a can of tyre weld instead) if you are wanting to make the most of what your car has to offer power wise, anything (within reason) that's weighty and not essential ditch it, it all helps increase that mpg :)

I think people are straying away from the original point..

He has a 1.2 because I'm guessing its his first car and cannot afford the likes of a cupra/fr, engine conversion or getting it turbo'd.

@Jamiex17 theres not a lot you can do for power my friend, just have to wait until you can afford a bigger engined car! I'm in the same boat

I'd agree with that, my suggestions of a car upgrade were purely for giggles, I stick with my opening statement, ignore the engine keep it healthy and go for the more cosmetic side of things.

I've got a 1.2 also, and have come to the obvious conclusion that the only changes I will make are aesthetic mods, not performance. Even with a panel filter, induction system or exhaust you'll gain 2-3bhp if you're lucky.

Just rag it to 5k and it'll wizz along

Nail on the head, that's exactly what the 1.2 is for, zipping around town and making the valves dance on the bonnet.

what would you guys suggest to help my little 1.2 be:
more heathly
power
ect

ino im defo getting panel fiters
exhaust
anything else thats gonna help the engine but not eat away at my fuel?

Everyone thinks my 1.2 is nippy, the secret is to drive at 6k revs hahaha.
The only thing you should do is just keep it serviced regularly, and the panel filters as you say. Wouldn't bother making engine mods, because you'd be better off putting that money towards your next car. :)

^^^^^^^^^^^ WHYYYYYY?

Just buy an FR/Cupra! I bet your mate spend more on the conversion than a standard model with 180bhp.

Agree with u I told my mate what was the point but he just wanted to be able to say he had a 1.2 with high power he even kept the 1.2 badge on the back he spent the best part of 10k doing the full conversion including up grading the full brake system and serspension system I do say one thing through I didn't think he would ever actually go ahead with it lol.
It's the fastest 1.2 I have ever seen it puts my Cupra tdi for shame I hate to say that lmao.

But it's still cheeper to insure over my Cupra with full declearance on insurance probley due to they don't belive it's capable of doing that power to a 1.2 . :( it even looks standerd apart from alloys and it's lower.
