Got my car back today all cleaned and washed for me... Great service from the dealer. Got my car rebooked in for the 27th of aug to take the engine apart etc, didnt really ask much about it and got a free car for 2 weeks.

It's all done under warranty, I wasn't really bothered about the oil consumption because I hardly drive much but my dealer was concerned about it, so they advised me to book it in for 1000miles test and shipped a report to SEAT HQ (took 4 days to get a reply and a phone call from the dealer to book my car in for another check) and then engine parts need replacing etc. So great service again and they only just opened in April too.... Lol

Was wondering about this new dealer, glad it seems on the ball.
Mines you may know had been in for the consumption test (1000 kms BTW) and it too failed the test. Long and short is the bores were badly scored and they replaced the engine. Good but warranty runs out in april and unsure if i will keep it beyond then without warranty.

Whoever designed this engine needs shooting, its a major cause for concern for everyone who has a car with this engine, cars should not drink that much oil full stop, im keeping a eye on mine and doesnt seem to have done much at nearly 2000 miles so will keep going.

That's very true because it is a pain knowing ur engine will be destroyed because of it. Currently my car is 2 and half years old and done 22,900miles. So didn't have any problems since those 2 years.

Dealer is pretty close where I live at least 2min drive. So I'm all set for my 3rd service. Best thing it will be only £127 from them.

Isn't anything replaced under warranty has 2 year extended warranty on that part? Or does it depend on what it is? I read it somewhere.

Well I went to my dealers and they didn't know anything of it.

they just need to check the latest tpi on oil consumption the tpi has advanced to version 7.only changed on 1st august so its very new.

You dont get any "extended warranty" on parts replaced under warranty, the warranty expires when the vehicle warranty expires.3 years or 60k

Emailed Seat UK as Seat Droitwich weren't much help. They confirmed there is a new Breather Pipe and I should get my car booked in.

Ive booked it in for the 20th and have got a courtesy car. I have passed the date to Seat who will talk to Seat Droitwich etc.

Maybe im being thick but, how different cant a little breather hose be? It is just the rubber flex between the airbox and the engine isnt it?

I remember the manager told me that the tech dude will be communicating back and forward with SEAT HQ with the replacing (parts/engine) and testing of my engine.

I think I'll get more information when my car is in on the 27th.

I would of throught any part fitted should get x ammount of warranty on them from the dealer.

I work for Volvo uk and any volvo part fitted by our selfs is coverd for part and labor costs for two years so if that part fails it would get replaced free of charge

But if something else has failed near by that part it won't but this is how volvo do it. I'd guess seat should do something Simalur

Took the car on Monday to the dealers and got a free courtesy car for 2 weeks. Got a call today from the dealer confirming that I need a new engine, so SEAT HQ has authorise a new engine. New engine will be delivered on Tuesday and will get the car back Monday the 10th. Great service!!!
