Nope. About 15 if I'm lucky. And it needs VPower.
GRRRRRRRRRRRWWWWAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPP
But that was also running 2.8 degrees of neg so traction was a big issue. Sub 5 secs and a 12 is definitely in the car.

I like drag racing over a 1/4 mile, which is why I shall be heading to Brighton on the 8th Sept for the Speed Trials again to watch the top cars and bikes run in the 9's. Every year I get a load of reasons why members can't go; I'm on holiday/washing the dog etc - not good enough!

Great day at the Pod, ran a 13.8 @ 100.61mph against a 400bhp Vectra turbo on nitros and won :), 3 times :) :). Was beaten on only 1 run - 0.9 of a sec by a Saxo :( which had a roof chop and an engine in the back!!!! Some serious kit there inc funny car which ran 177mph. I think the meaning of life is Drag racing. ;)

I was there too. 14.00@ 101mph. Unfortunately my boost is being killed off by the DSG pulling back the power.:(

Are you still running stripped out and on R888's?

What were your 60' times?

60 ft time on that run was 2.1465 sec. Time of run, 9:41am - track opened 1/2 hour early.

I think I need R888's to improve my launch then and to get there earlier :D.

My best 60ft was 2.3445 and by 11.47am it was a lot hotter.

1st run was against a Civic Type R who's Vtec must have not kicked in yo! He posted a [email protected]

The other two runs were both against a V6 Vectra who ran solid 16.5's@89mph. He thought he was going to win against my car when he saw it, but said he couldn't believe how I just pulled away from him!

I would have been over the moon if i had a 60ft time of 2.3 on my last go lol let alone a 2.1. I was consistently 14.0 at 103-105mph with 60ft times of 2.6-2.8 and DSG issues lol.

IMO these hybrids so far are proving crap. All the extra power on the dyno, but its not being shown on the road or strip because of lost traction or DSG intervention. Pretty pointless mod unless they can solve it.

APR reckon they have got around the DSG limp mode problems, now its the boost and misfire problems that need to be sorted lol. at least with the 2.0TFSI tuning was easy and the power was just there all the time with no intervention.

id say so, because we can keep the revs high out of the peak torque region there will be no DSG intervention.

It isn't the hybrids it is the DSG intervention. With a DSG map our cars would be 270-280bhp/lbft and low 13's without stripping down weight.[B)]

THATS ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
His best run against me was a 14.25 @ 105.19 - 1/4 mile wasn't long enough for his power advantage. I love Youtube! :)

Watched and commented on that vid yesterday. Thats impressive, twice as much power and you destroyed him up to about 85/90mph. Bahahah. Dare say I could beat him. Well, I did on bruntingthorpes drag strip. Santapod is a quicker track due to the sticky tarmac right?

How much time do we reckon it takes off?

The thing about Santa Pod is the timing is FIA, and 1/4 mile is a real 1/4 mile. GTi Inters 1/4 mile has always been a bit shorter I feel. If anything, the grip at the Pod has sometimes been worse than other venues, depends on temp/prep/wind direction.

Temp ect all applies to others. But in general, on an average day, I'd think the pod would be quicker than concrete or airfield surface?

I found inters to have much more grip than i managed at Santa pod.

Concrete gives more grip than tarmac doesnt it, thats why airfield trackdays destroy your tyres
