Thinking of lowering my 2.0 TDi FR.

Please can anyone tell me what is best and also what is the difference? I fancy a black spring kit for the OEM look but it seems red Sportlines are very popular.

Thanks

EDIT:

Found this, so the lowering heights are different:

Sportline - E20-81-009-02-22
With roadworthy certificate, Lowering 45-50 mm, Axle Load FA to 1130 kg, Axle Load RA to 930 kg

Pro-Kit - E10-81-009-05-22
With roadworthy certificate, Lowering 30 mm, Axle Load FA to 1120 kg, Axle Load RA to 965 kg

go for the sportlines, or H & R I fitted the pro kit on mine and it made hardly any noticeable drop at all - and no difference in handling what do ever. so whipped them straight off and returned for a full refund... i didnt know but apparently the Pro Kit isn't recommended for the FR as it has lower suspension to begin with, the sportlines are recommended for the FR and cupra. hope this helps!

Sportsline it is.

Now I really need to find a great price for some and also wonder how much Aviva will charge for having them fitted.

Will someone for once and for all describe why they mean by "better ride" when it comes to Sportlines?

Is it better as in sportier and provides more feedback, but rock hard an wouldn't recommend for the missus?
Or is it, perfectly comfortable, less crashy than stock and possibly softer than stock?

I had decided on Pro kit, but now I have no clue anymore

I personally wouldn't recommend the pro kit at all for the FR or cupra. it makes not difference whatsoever ever and you get next to no drop in ride height. I can't personally comment on the sportlines but I would imagine what people mean by 'better' is less body roll in the corners more focused etc. I can't see how any lowering springs could make the ride more comfortable?? :S having said that the FR is very hard to begin with

That's the thing. By definition it's going to be a harder ride 40mm down isn't it?

The ride is pretty punishing as it is on less than flat roads.

I'd have to feel it before I went for a set.
Thankfully at 160 it's not exactly a big cost. Although I still don't know if it even makes sense with my stock shocks at almost 80k miles.

i got pro kit and it's not a bad drop, but if you want a more noticable drop def sportlines. Bear in mind though that the ride will be more harsh.

If the ride in an FR/CUPRA is the same as my LCR then i don't think you can say it's harsh or crashy at all!, You think there bad try an FN2 CTR!!! I had one before the LCR and that really was crashy!! Leon in comaprison is a LOT softer and MUCH more forgiving!

I seem to recall the popular upgrade to reduce the chrashiness and improve the handling for the FN2 was Eibach springs awell, they supposedly made quite a difference!

Out of interest is there a specific kit for the LCR!?, keep looking at mine n thinking it could stand lowering a tad- not much but just a wee bit, but i deffo DO NOT want to make the ride any harder/crashier AT ALL!!
