my mate and me went to R-t e c h for him to get a stage 1 map and id asked niki could he have a look at my car beens it aint bin right.

so my mates car made 270bhp and 290ftlb on a custom stage one he got sfs 3in tip, cobra catback and relentless 3in dp and sport cat and k and n filter and forge 007 he is well happy

now mine niki did a power run and i got 277bhp and 290 ftlb so then he did some logging and found the egt where at 950 over 5500rpm.

so he looked at the map on the ecu and fuel was same as standard map as well as timing the only resson the car was getin the fuel it neeeded as the egt sensor see high temp and made car dump fuel in witch it shouldnt have to do

so niki was great he tweeked the map so fuelin was right for the boost and added abit of timing as well and sorted the safty map to pull timin back if intake temps r high.

cant thank niki enough he a great guy he didnt even charge me for the work and happy to know the car is runnin safe not relying on the egt sensor to kick in. car feel amazing now with his tweeks it made 283bhp and 319ftlb.

really pissed off the way amd had left the car lost all respect for them thought they were gd by lookin at the car but mappin it the way they did was so wrong and riskin killin me engine iff the knock or egt sensor went to protect.

so here a few pics and vids from the day

That's good to hear as I'm planning on getting Niki to map my car. Not so good about your original map though.

I wouldn't be put off the AMD map, there are plenty of high power stage 2 LCR's running their software and from seeing what others post AMD's customer service seems to be really good.

Yea there r loads of people tht r happy with there amd maps. Only resson I pissed off is tht it wasn't a safe map at all and I taken it back to them twice ind they were happy to have a stage 2 car running peak 24-25 psi and have standard amount of fuel and rely on the car it's self to see it needed more fuel as was running hot then riskin bent rods or piston rings

Dear All

I am surprised and disappointed that this is your opinion of our work.

This car came to us on a Saturday to check hesitation problem. We had mapped the car earlier in the year and mentioned the questionable quality of the FMIC fitted.

The car was rebooked in as the problem was recurring. The car had been decatted and a different intercooler fitted since it was last here.

The hesitation was now very noticeable but the vehicle had faults that needed sorting before we could look at that.

The car had a leak from the N75 valve (we replaced tie wrap with jubilee clip) and also the lambda sensor was missing after the car had been decatted (we ordered a new lambda sensor and fitted)

I then logged the car again and remapped accordingly. The car drove well and I got you to drive the car to confirm that you were happy. We only charged for a new lambda probe.

You subsequently posted on the forum that you were happy with the results.

You have now, for unknown reasons, got another tuner to read our remap from your car. You didn’t have any problems so why do that?

I won’t go into the details of how we, and most other tuners remap 1.8t engines, but the mapping on these is based on lambda control. That is all I will say as its not my job to educate people on how to tune cars but I can assure you we weren’t “riskin killin me engine iff the knock or egt sensor went to protect”. We have plenty of customers who are happy with their results and have not had any engine problems.

Is this the same for the others out there?

Be careful of being used as a marketing tool.

not sayin all the work u had done was bad and was gd of u to look at car after i wasnt happy with it.
fmic was changed as ud told me the old one could of bin restictive in high rev as well as sport car could of bin to fault so yes i changed these and problem was still there so i booked it back in, between bookin it in and comin back for the second time my mate booked he's lcr in at r t e c h for a remap so i thought id ask niki to look at mine just to see how it runnin.

so car come back to u and u found the leak and the sensor but the problem with power/ boost not there in high rev was still there so ud tweeked the map the car yes did feel better then it did as it was really bad felt worse then it did on a stage 1 map. so yes i was happy the car felt better with wht u had done.

saturday i was at r t e c h with my mate and niki did loging on my car and it had egt of 950 and higher makin the car bump fuel in to try and cool it self and was pullin timing back as well. niki wasnt happy with the way the car was runnin and said he could adjust things if it had a revo map as he'd sin amd car with revo maps being used. it wasnt revo but he checkedthe map on the ecu and foundthe the fuel seting were still standard so he adjusted them did more loging and added some timein as the car was runnin much cooler and could handle it to the last run the car maxed egt was 850 and wasnt havin to pull timin back.

i didnt go to r t e c h to try a fault the amd maping at all i went there to just check the car was runnin as it should but found tht it wasnt and it was relying on the sensors to fuel the car right and putin risk of damage to the engine aswas set up as it could andif a sensor was to break id more then likly damaged the engine

this was only my experance with a amd map not sayin at all there all bad at all im very happy know know my car is runnin as it should niki show me all the login and the adjustment he made to my map very happy with r t e c h and the work nik has done

This is a message from Niki who Shaun gets on well with :-

There was nothing wrong with the AmD map, just a different methods of tuners making power, some run lean and hotter, (not my liking). Some run richer with more advance like my method. My method of fuel / timing tune worked well in the AmD map.

We have plenty of happy customers with our remaps and none of which suffer with engine failures or damage.
