Here i was thinking it was just my local seat stealers that are a waste of time,it realy gets my back up the way they speak to you like you are stupid and know nothing about cars,i mean to say i served my time at a vauxhall franchise and was a mechanic for around 15 years, the guy that did your t/belt must have noticed the timing was out, it would not have started as it should + at idle it would be very rough i would have expected it to throw on the engine management light aswell,if they have managed to get the timing wrong what else have they done, i just hope they have torqued up your pulley bolts correctly.personally i would not trust them and make them pay up for all there muck ups and get it done by a trustworthy garage.

mate tell me about it every time I spoke to them it was like yeah yeah sir we will rectify it but they just want to get rid of you Im very certain they have not torqued up bolts correctly I cant say Im happy but glad its over

just thought id add my two penny:

ive had experiences with
several SEAT dealers
SKODA dealers
AUDI dealers.
and before that 2 VW dealers,

All in a hope of finding a competent dealer. Have i found one, - not yet. they all cocked up in some way .
these include:
damaging a wing leaving a 2"by1" section with no paint, - not mentioning this...
Damaging some electrical equipment in my car when they 'wiped' over the interior. again they did not mention this.
Not doing work they charged me for.
Doing work that did not solve a problem, having the car for 3 weeks... basically guessing changing bits and then trying to charge me for it all having never advised me of any addition work / costs.
Last week i picked up a part, parked in the customer space but was blocked in by a technician who parked across 3 cars.. then buggered off...
Fitting wrong parts.
Supplying the lower strut brace for the LC, with associated bolts. "leave it with me i know what you need".. only to find they supplied only one captive nut for an item requiring securing at both ends..
refusing to complete warranty work, not becuase they disagreed the part was faulty, they argued i had no warranty despite me showing them the warranty paperwork and receipt with their signature on it.
Trying to sell me HT leads (another VAG car) saying it was running on 5 not 6 cylinders.. for £200! when i picked the car up i found they simply had not plugging one of the HT leads onto the spark plug.
Telling me brakes pads were 1mm, - a simple blatent lie.
Loose wheel bolts.
Overfilling the oil is common.
Washing the car when i specifically tell them not to and was written on job card.
and get this, i joke you not: WASHED HALF OF THE CAR. - not top to bottom, one side done, one side not.

And as for them using forums to find out how a job is done, you might not believe this, but its pretty common practice. I have chatted with 3 dealers who have done this, they dont tend to talk about it though as they are the 'experts'. and in anycase, if they dont use forums they call seat technical who advise them of things to randomly try..

SEAT UK customer services.. what can i say. Nothing complimentary im afraid. Their usual tactic when they want to get rid of you is to say - pay for the work and call back to request a goodwill gesture..
Three problems with this.
1. - you then have to pay an expensive bill yourself for a car that might be warrantied..
2. - they appear to forget any previous conversations or suggestions a goodwill guesture has been discussed..
3. - they simply dont pay up.

lol no way washed half the car now thats cutting corners . I think the problem is with managment as most of these managers dont have a clue about cars and how to handle their staff I just dont understand how they keep on getting away with it ..

They get away with it because we are silly enough to keep buying their cars and keeping them in a job.
When I change mine I 100% won't be funding the shitty Seat dealer network anymore.

I don't understand how every dealer in the UK can be so bad. Like not even one dealer who takes care of their customer and does what they say they'll do without messing it up, is it really that much to ask?!

i wont take my car into seat dealers anymore because my local dealer (BLADE BRISTOL) are a bunch of muppets (i dont have time to list all the **** ups). I take it to local VAG specialists (STREETWISE AUTO) and they actually know what they are doing and dont rip you off in the process

If SEAT put no pressure on them, why should they bother trying?

I had no problem with my Corsa because the dealers are under pressure to fix stuff.

I'm on my second new SEAT from Lister's SEAT in Coventry, can't fault them so far really, hence why I went back there twice!

+1 on the listers seat Coventry, handled my cupra issues well and sorted out getting it handed back and swapped for the Leon.

SEAT won't put any pressure on the dealers to resolve issues , there is no reason for them to do that , they know any issues for warranty work have to have a DIS report raised and SEAT have the final say.
They also know the dealer has to buy all the parts through SEAT as well they have no power whatsoever over the franchised dealers.
I have complained numerous times to customer scare even about one of the dealerships mentioned above who are truy shocking and they didn't give a rats arse if I was unhappy or not.
To be honest this might actually be a good time to put up a poll and name and rate dealers out of ten for their service , IMHO if you can find a good SEAT dealer the. They are worth their weight in gold!
I have been through 5 dealers local to me and they are all absolute toilet and I would not recommend any of them to help you get directions never mind work on a car.

Jeez another dealership problem. Sorry to hear of your problems mate
What's put me off Seat now is the fact head office has no control over franchises so you're at the mercy of whatever stealer you buy from

I updated my dealer complaint thread tonight, like I say I won't buy a Seat again

Thanks mate I think most of us have had issues with dealerships. Dont let it put you off buying another seat just stop using the dealership I still think seats are excellent cars for the money .
